This question comes up on nearly every clearance quote, so here is the straight answer. It is worth checking before we arrive, because an item we are not licensed to carry has to stay where it is.
What we take
Furniture of all kinds: sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables, mattresses, office desks and chairs.
White goods and electricals: fridges, freezers, washing machines, cookers, televisions, computers.
General household clutter: boxes, bags, toys, books, clothing, bric-a-brac, loft and garage contents.
Garden waste: cuttings, branches, turf, pots, old sheds and fencing panels.
Business waste: office clearances, shop fittings, unit clear-outs, with the duty-of-care paperwork included.
What we cannot take
These are hazardous or specially controlled wastes. They need a different licence and a different disposal route, and no legitimate carrier will take them in a general load.
Asbestos in any form, including cement sheeting and old garage roofing.
Chemicals, solvents, oils, fuels and paint tins with liquid paint still in them.
Gas bottles and fire extinguishers.
Car and leisure batteries, and loose tyres.
Clinical or medical waste, including sharps.
If you have any of these, your local council household waste site or a specialist hazardous waste contractor is the route. Ring the council first, since sites vary on what they accept and some need booking.
Things worth flagging when you book
Fridges and freezers contain regulated gases and have to be handled separately, so tell us if there is one in the load. Anything very heavy, such as a safe or a stone item, needs the right number of people and sometimes the tail lift, so mention that too.
What happens to it afterwards
We re-use or donate whatever sensibly can be, and the rest goes through licensed disposal. As an Environment Agency registered upper-tier carrier, licence CBDU445737, we can provide waste transfer notes for your records. For a business clearance that paperwork is not optional, so we include it as standard.
If you are unsure about a particular item, send a photo on WhatsApp. It is quicker than describing it and we will tell you straight away.
